HAL.DLL Missing or Corrupt
This may happen that you shutdown your system and when you reboot an error message appeared on the black screen.
HAL.DLL Missing Or Corrupt
The reason for this problem is that the BOOT.INI file on the root of the C: drive that is miss configured
1. Insert and boot from your Windows XP CD-ROM.
2. At the first R=Repair option, press the R key
3. Press the number that corresponds to the correct location for the installation of Windows you want to repair.
Typically this will be #1
5. Type bootcfg /list to show the current entries in the BOOT.INI file
6. Type bootcfg /rebuild to repair it
7. Take out the CD-ROM ROM and type exit
and you are done.

Well i had this same issue Hal.dll missing or corrupt Please re-install bla bla bla .. I got sooo damned frustrated with it , I tried a another hdd with windows installed and mine as secondary, But had trouble with other system also.. Weird thing is i got my XP cd and put it in and followed the R directions, But it errored with some .sys file corrupted….. So at my wits end i got to a command window, Dont know how, but i did.. And typed format C: hit enter, got the usual data loss and agreed and typed Y and hit enter.., Well i was like WTF did i do that for… OK at 27% i tried to stop it, Figuring it was a waste but i hit alt cntrl del twice and the monitor flickered twice and i got a damned mouse cursor.. Weirdest thing i ever seen, Booted to desktop… Im scared to reboot… Ran a system file checker and nothing found.. bla bla bla.. WTH Do i reboot, What precautions do i take? I have internet, Do i save a file for now or what|? hm What version of hal.dll do i get.. Damned Im confused… ANY help would be greatly appreciated…
